Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Biography : Mozart was born Jan. 27, 1756 in Salzburg, Austria. He died on Dec. 5, 1791 in Vienna. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest composers in the history of Western music. Leopold and Anna Maria Pertl Mozart were his parents. Mozart married Constanze Weber in 1782. He died in 1791 at the age of 35.
Mozart was a musical prodigy who could play at age three and was beginning to compose by age five. Mozart performed in all the major courts of Europe before he was ten years old. As an adult, Mozart wrote and performed works in every major genre of classical music—concertos, symphonies, operas, string quartets, and sonatas.
Mozart wrote his first opera, Mitridate Re di Ponto, in 1770 when he was only 14 years old. He wrote 17 operas. The most famous are The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute, and Don Giovanni.
Overall, he wrote more than 600 works including 41 symphonies. "Eine Kleine Nachtmusic" is probably the most well-known.

Famous works : Piano Concerto No. 21 in C (K. 467, 1785), Serenade No. 13 in G for Strings ("Eine kleine Nachtmusik, K. 525, 1787), Symphony No. 40 in G Minor (K. 550, 1788), Symphony No. 41 in C ("Jupiter," K. 551, 1788) and the operas "Le Nozze di Figaro" ("The Marriage of Figaro," 1785-86); "Don Giovanni" (1787): "Cosi fan tutte" (1790); and "Die Zauberflöte" ("The Magic Flute") (K. 620, 1790-1).
